Growing up a small town girl from central Illinois, "playing house" was always my go to activity!
Home was my happy place - filled with love, music & comfortability orchestrated on a shoe string budget by my Mom.
It was from her that I learned what it truly meant to be resourceful and how to find beauty everywhere.
I left my happy home at 17 & headed to the city (Chicago) for college. Many cross country moves later found me honing my craft - renovating and building homes. Each location brought a new style of home to personalize - a classic northeastern colonial, a FL ranch home with a pool, a CA beach home, a new build (but made to look old) traditional brick 4 story, a cozy cape cod & a vintage 1916 Georgian Revival (MY ALL TIME FAV!).
This newfound passion took on a new look in 2011 when I “accidentally” landed my very first client & needless to say ... the rest is history!
A few years into this newfound career, sadly my beloved Mom passed away unexpectedly. It was clear then that it was time to leave the Chicago burbs & head back near my happy place - a place where our family & friends could be gathered together around the fire, laughing about old times on the back deck & remembering those we miss at our annual Thanksgiving dinner. Every morning as I'm greeted by our little furry friends, I look around & think of all that brought us here today & take a quick moment to be truly thankful for HOME!
Through all the moves, one thing remained the same … home to me is simply that place that instantly welcomes and comforts you the minute you walk in the door, just like it was at Mom's.
